Good day! Here I am again! Silence?....... We'll its our last day of the three day training in BASIC PC TROUBLESHOOTING & INTERNET MAINTEANANCE TRAINING conducted by GEM_CLIC in coordination with the Iligan Computer Institute, Iligan City where the participants are coming from Lanao del Sur, Lanao de Norte, Iligan City and Marawi City division. It's a way of getting involved much on hardwares as well as the software. Joining the training really open our minds of the responsibilities that an IT incharge should have to tackle. It is not an easy task to performed where we will be doing all these things not just for softwares maintenance. We really enjoy as yesterday was also the Fiesta of Iligan City at namimiyesta po kaming lahat kahapon.

Regards to all!

"Buwan ng Wika" Quiz Bee in PowerPoint!!!

Once again, MSU-Balindong have used PowerPoint Presentation during the "Buwan ng Wika" celebration Quiz Bee. The questions were contributed by the Chairman of the Filipino Department, Mrs. Amina D. Cabugatan and the Department Chairman of the Araling Panlipunan, Miss Judith Jaspe. Through the initiative of Ms. Manalundong, in more or less than 24 hours, no matter how hectic her schedule is..., she still managed to present the questions and answers using the PowerPoint.

The students were very competent. As a matter of fact, in the first round, the First Year level made it to the top. The Quiz Bee was a closed fight between the students, each group leads the other by only one point. But then, in the final round the Third Year Level were proclaimed the Champions...

SASE BOOSTER REVIEW CLASSES

The MSU External Units are having the SASE BOOSTER REVIEW CLASSES from Aug. 22 to Aug. 30..This is a program to review the top 30 students from each of the 13 MSU External Units from Lanao del Sur and Lanao del Norte in preparation for the MSU SASE EXAM.
Because of this,Ma'am Marie, Sir Arnold, Ma'am Sal and yours truly (ALL FROM MSU EXTERNAL UNITS), are so busy as we are part of the module writers and lecturers for the 10 day booster review classes..

We are so much apprehensive, for we expect that the GEM or EDUQUEST team will arrive any moment for the monitoring..

It would be very much appreciated if we be informed beforehand of the monitoring schedule, so that we can arrange our schedules with our ongoing Booster Review Classes which is held at the MSU LNCAT in Marawi City..

Thank you very much....

Congratulations...Ms. No-rain!

Alhamdulillah and congratulations to you, Ms. No-rain. You have now started your journey of bringing your students into the world of learning through modern technology. And that's where we're heading for.

As we move on to this journey just don't forget, we need also to adapt other strategies wherein some other lessons or subject matter cannot be presented with the use of PowerPoint Presentation or advance technology. As for me, sometimes I adapt role playing and some online activities that is appropriate for my subject matter.

As my students perform their activities, I cannot explain how they feel and even puzzled how can they do it alone without their teachers guide. Adapting the Online Activities from our Mentor Place, my students competed in performing their activities. With four members in each group and making use of a piece of paper as a representation of a chocolates, they have to divide among themselves wherein "no two" of the member of each group will not have the same amount or part of the chocolates given to them. Then, after division they have to find out whose member has the greatest and least amount.

This activity made my students realized that what they learn in school is related to our daily lives. Wanna try? Just browse in our Mentor Place and pick what online actvity you want your students to perform. Try it.

The eMentor Room

Finally...

Well..I don't have to make excuses anymore...But nevertheless, I wana make it....

I haven't had the chance to blog for sometime...As usual, yours truly has been so busy preparing her, EHEM, eMentor room...Not only that, I am so engrossed with finishing my final lesson presentation, which took me a month to think over and conceptualize...Fortunately, I have just submitted it to Sir Meoh, and according to him, no editing is needed..I don't have to place his "nice comments" here...thanks sir...

I am also not too keen to blog just for the sake of blogging...After all, the readers can tell if what I wrote here has some sense or not..I can't think of anything to blog the past few days...My mind is simply blank...Even if Sir Meoh was prodding us to do so, I can't get my mind to write anything...Still an excuse...kidding....

Alas and Alhamdulillah (thank GOD), just finished my lesson presentation....had my very own eMentor room....had conducted some classes already using my materials....and had taken pictures in the process....What more excuse can I come up with???

All I can say is that, there's no great joy than to watch your students so intent in what you say, and so engrossed in the lessons being delivered...All they can say after each lesson, is...MORE...MORE...and MORE...

I have sacrificed so much to come up with my eMentor Room...Words can't describe what me and our principal has gone through just to have it all set up...But because of my insistence, our principal finally agreed to give me the room, and purchase the necessary materials needed, including a digital camera for that matter...

I have rounded all of the computer shops here in Iligan City for the video card with TV out, but to no avail...Then off to Cagayan de Oro...Fortunately, one is available in one computer shop there...Other shops have some VCards but way too expensive, if I have bought it, my principal would fire me...

Finally I have the card...But it still has to be installed in one of our CPU's...I again hauled one of the CPU's from school, and had it sent to a shop here in Iligan and installed it...All with fees of course...

Not that I blamed our principal of course...If she can have her way, we have had our eMentor room long ago...Her hands are simply tied...We don't have existing funds...That's the point of the matter...But nevertheless, her support is amazing...From her personal services, to her personal funds, she has supported the whole project all the way...

Finally, last week, I was able to set up our eMentor room, and conducted classes there...I have all good words from everyone...It's really different when you have the whole process set up...Really really different...I didn't expect my class to be trasformed like that...Even if we don't have projector, it's the closest thing we could have acheived to having the real thing...I can say proudly, my hard work paid off....

This is kinda getting long...I have so many things to say...But am afraid, this is not a book..This is just an article...So I'll save what I have to say in my future blogs, which will be in less than 24 hours LOL...Yes, am back...More inspired, and more intent to finish what I have started...

Thanks to my co eMentor Scholars...Ate Marie, Ma'am Sally, Ma'am Yam, Sir Arnold, and Sir Acsie....
