PRESENT!!!!!

Assallam Alaikum to everyone..
It's been a while since I last wrote a blog here..No excuses for not writing anything here this past few months..

But I do have an excuse...
For some reason I can't access my account here, I keep on logging in but I can't..Finally I was able to figure it out..Turns out I have to create a new google account which I don't have previously...

A few moments ago I was reading the presentation of Ms. Mary Bautista at the IBM Reinventing Education Summit (Education, ICT and the Learning-Intensive Society), in Shanghai, China on May 22-24, 2007 ( http://www-07.ibm.com/au/apsummit/content/pdfs/EdTech_Liberates_Present-for_Ms._Mary.pdf ).

I can't help but reminisce and be emotional as I have realized how far IBM Ementor has gone..From the Gold Quill Awards and then presenting the program at the said summit..I can truly say that IBM Ementor is not just a temporary program we have to accomplish but rather a lifelong commitment.. IBM Ementor has changed my life in many ways, it has enhanced me as a teacher and improved learning in the process..

Our school has just been chosen as the model Community College in the External Units of MSU by no less than the MSU President Ricardo de Leon..He has visited our school last March 2007, and was clearly impressed with our facilities as well as with the faculty's performance..Because of this he had instructed the MSU-IIT Vice Chancellor to create an extension College in our school.

Now our school is offering a Two Year Ladderized Computer Technology course majoring in Communications and Electronic Technology..I was chosen by the School as the coordinator of this course thus paving a way for me to further implement the program to our children and my coteachers..Though I am busy with our College Program, still I have not given up my Biology Subject on our High School Department..I have created more powerpoint presentations on other topics on my Biology instruction, and have plans of fully creating presentation on the whole Biology syllabus so that I would be able to share it with my coteachers..Anyone who is interested in having copies of this said presentations is welcome..You can reach me on my email address..

Sir Meoh please extend my congratulations to the whole Eduquest team who has helped make IBM Ementor a success..Without organizations like IBM and USAID we would not have discovered the joys of Ementoring..

Congratulations to the IBM Ementor Scholarship Program!!!

PS..

By the way I have a new Ementor Room..I will post pictures soon..And Ma'am Nor-ain is back!!!! Hi Sir Meoh....

fr Tawi-Tawi w/ Love

Hello everyone!!!

I got the chance to post a blog I'm here in Zamboanga... wala pa rin kaming internet sa island namin hopefully this june ma reactivate na... So how are you guys doing??? Kami as usual out of touch madalas kahit network ng cell wala anyway we are still getting by.

By the way I was given the chance to render a msg of thanks to the USAID GEM program last may31. The program was graced with the presence of the US ambassador. I represented the schools from western min. Sarap ng feelings when Kristie A. Kenny shook my hands for my short msg... I'm really thankful indeed sa mga taga GEM for all the grants given to us and for all the opportuties given to us to grow professionally. Maski ang pagbigay ko ng Message of thanks was indeed an achievement.

Good news pala for our school...We now have an LCD projector. So hopefully this school year I can have a better classroom presentation using the equipment and using the materials available for us through the IBM eMEntor prgram.

Hope to see you guys again one bright day soon!!!

Surfing the Galaxy

Facts
European scientists reported Wednesday they have found an Earth-like planet outside the solar system -- an exoplanet with moderate temperature and possibly having liquid water, two factors that can sustain life. The planet, orbiting a red dwarf and estimated to be some 20 light years away from Earth, may well become a destination for man in his search for extraterrestrial life.

While the scientists have not physically seen the planet, they could presume its existence from measurements of gravitational pull taken of the star. The new planet could be just about five times the mass of Earth and hence a super-Earth.
2. Xavier Delfosse, a member of the team from Grenoble University in France, said in a statement, because of the planet's temperature and relative proximity, it will most probably be a very important target of the future space missions dedicated to the search for extra-terrestrial life.
"It's a significant step on the way to finding possible life in the universe," said University of Geneva astronomer Michel Mayor, one of 11 European scientists on the team that found the planet. "It's a nice discovery. We still have a lot of questions."
The scientists say the exoplanet (extra solar planet) -- planets revolving around a star other than the Sun -- is the smallest ever found up to now, completing its full orbit in 13 days. It is estimated to be 14 times closer to its star than the Earth to the Sun. But Gliese 581 is smaller and colder than the Sun and thus less luminous and the planet lies in the habitable zone -- the region around a star where water could be found in liquid form.

The latest discovered planet is Gliese 876 d, which has been found to be the stars closest orbiting planet

Greetings....Greetings....Greeting....

Assalamo Alaikom (Greetings of Peace to everyone)!!!

How's everybody now? What's keeping you busy? I hope you still remember those days when we were together acquiring those knowledge that we are now using in our teching profession. For us here in MSU-Balindong, we still continue to apply and use all that we have acquired especially using PowerPoint as a tool in teaching our students. Infact, after our recognition and awards night again we have used powerpoint in our English Day Quiz Bee (All subject categories). And the CD that I have "the Boxer" is now on the loose. My students enjoy very much to have an interactive lessons in my class.

I hope everyone of us will not forget to apply the knowledge that we have.

God Bless!

It's me,

Ms. Marie
