Sir Meoh

We're through! For the first phase lang po!

We had successfully done the first batch and it was so nice to hear the feedbacks from the participants which was delivered by Ms. Melba Angni ( Top 1 of the eMentors) but was not able to go with us in Davao. Sir we'll be sending you all the pictures soon.
Mahirap at madugo talaga!

Arnold

Welcome to the Real World

To everyone,

Welcome to the world of training and leadership! I am very much delighted to hear you guys training others to become technology-enabled as yourselves. We have always believed in your capabilities as teachers and leaders and of course mentors in your community. Your labor is not in vain. Your influence translates to more illuminated educators..

sir garsh

Successful?

Helooooooo everyone! We are about to end our three-day re-echo seminar here in MSU. It's really so tiresome. We really feel the same what did Sir Garsh and Sir Meoh feel when we were in Davao. It's really sooooo MADUGO. But we enjoy it a lot because all of us here in MSU Group are doing our best to make it a successful one. We started this training on June 28. MSU System Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Nasroden B. Guro, was our keynote speaker during the opening program and the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs [External Units], Dr. Malawi Panambulan, gave the welcome address. In this afternoon, we have the closing program. As of the moment, we have the last presenter in Science. After this presentation, the closing program will start.

At last, we survive the MADUGONG re-echo. It's just the first batch, we'll have the second batch may be next month. Hayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy............... Thanks God ......... for the strength, wisdom, and guidance provided to us for this re-echo. Thanks Sir Meoh and Ma'am Maej for the support. And of course our bosses here in MSU, they are really supportive to us.

IT'S NOT EASY AFTER ALL.......

It's day three of our reecho program of the MSU group. Just had the chance to blog...
No words can describe how we felt on this very intense workshop..Theres only one word to describe all of this..MADUGO....It's all plain madugo...By the way madugo means bloody in english...

When everyone is calling out on you to get help in their presentations and then another one calls...Now we know how that felt Sir Meoh and Sir Garsh...

I can see myself in our participants..Their faces filled with concentration and puzzlement..Filled with questions and frustrations...I can't help but reminisce how i feel when i was on their predicament months back...

But I know after all this, there would be sense of accomplishment on their part, and that after all this they would be excited to get back to their stations and apply what they have learned in this program...

This is not the end, but the beginning for all of us eMentors...

At last, we had made it!

Good day everyone! To our dear mentors and co IBM Scholars! How are you doing right now? We had successfuly started our Day 1 of the Re-echo training workshop on "INTEGRATING MODERN TECHNOLOGY IN CLASSROOM INSTRUCTION" which was graced by the our VP for Academic Affairs Dr. Nasruden Guro and our AVCAA Dr. Malawi Panambulan. It was so fulfilling to see the participants who are eager to learn of the all the inputs that we had in th etraining by sharing to them what we had learned from you Sir Garsh and Sir Meoh. There are still some of the teachers who are trying to look for slots just to attend the three day training but we can only accomodate 30 of them for the first batch. We will be holding again another batch next month (inshaallah). Again, overnights in preparation of some necessary inputs is still on going. We will be sending you soon Sir some of the pictures through Mam Norain. Thanks and Shalom!

eMentor Monitoring Visit #1

Hi eMentors.

I just would like to share with you the highlights of our first monitoring visit last April 17-28, 2006:

During the consultation visit, it was agreed that each scholar will design, develop, and implement at least 5 instructional materials (PowerPoint presentations and lesson plans). The working topics shall be submitted on or before May 15, 2006 using the MentorPlace communication tool. eMentors also agreed to submit a portfolio of outputs. You were requested to document all technology-integrated lesson plans implemented in the classroom.

The use of monitoring logbook was suggested to document your usage of the technology-enabled lessons, development of instructional materials and the actual implementation of the presentation in the classroom. The monitoring logbook will be submitted to EduQuest every 15th day of the month starting June 15, 2006.

It was also emphasized during the consultation that the eMentor scholars should train at least 10 teachers. Those who have conducted the echo training were requested to submit their training completion report using the MentorPlace.

Learning Sessions are conducted during our school visits. These sessions aimed to assist eMentor scholars in developing technology-integrated lesson plans. We gave a learning session on the different learning environments to reinforce their knowledge and skills on new innovations in technology-integrated classrooms, these are:

1. The InterAct Learning Center – a classroom management methodology that utilizes the computer connected to a big-screen television as the instrument for promoting classroom interaction.

2. The Inquiry-Based Learning Center - a learning environment that encourages learners to explore, discover and derive meaning from their learning experiences

3. The Knowledge Activity Center - an integrated learning environment which is commonly situated in the school library. It provides rich opportunities for students teachers and administrators to locate, organize and utilize current information and varied media resources.

eMentors were trained how to log on and use the Mentorplace website. It was reiterated that all communications will be coursed through the MentorPlace. As an initial activity, eMentors were requested to reply to the activity/announcement we have posted, “Monitoring visit #1”. Tryscience website was also introduced to the eMentors.

Ms. Maej Villanueva introduced to the eMentor Scholars the GEM website, http://www.mindano.org. The website serves as a database of teacher-prepared ICT-enabled Instructional Materials. It also serves as a venue for the eMentor scholars to produce, distribute, sharing and improvement of lessons.

It was also agreed upon that the eMentors will have their own newsletter. EduQuest and GEM will be in-charge of editing, lay-outing and publishing the articles. The following eMentors were designated as part of the Editorial Team:

1. Ms. Nor-ain Ampang and Ms. Sal D.H. Amin – for the MSU, Lanao Group
2. Ma’am Cora Maguate – for Maguindanao Group
3. Sir Rj Ampang and Sir Marlon Misal – for the Basilan Group
4. Sir Jeffrey Jikiri – for the Sulu Group
