Dear eMentors:
As part of your commitment/pledge as eMentors, may I reiterate the importance of maintaining Internet connection. Most schools are currently OFFLINE either because the school failed to renew their contract beginning the 13th month onwards (CLIC assistance includes free 12 months internet connection, afterwhich the CLIC school commits to pay the subscription based on the PTCA Resolution submitted along with other documents for application) due to non-coordination of ISPs (Internet Service Providers such as AZCommunications, Inc for satellite-connected schools, DCTech for wireless broadband, etc).
Currently, AZCom has a website where all queries re: billing/payment methods will be immediately answered. (URL: www.azcomm.net). Click on the "LIVE HELP" and then, wait for another window to pop with tabs "AZComm Live Chat" and "Leave A Message".
First, click on the tab "Leave A Message" and write your email. Below, there is a space alloted for "Question". Please write the ff: important data which AZCom will need to be able to restore your internet connection:
a) your complete name (mention that you are an IBM eMentor Scholar);
b) complete name of school (municipality, province);
c) current status of your internet connection;
d) contact numbers (please provide 2-3 cellphone numbers and the names of contact person/s);
e) request for billing statement/contract of renewal and state the preferred way of sending it(either via email or available courier in your area).
It is very important that the school renews their contract with AZCom. If, however, the school decides to migrate to another ISP (i.e. Smart Wifi or PLDT DSL is already available in the area), it is important to prompt GEM Program (through me) and inform AZCom right away, otherwise, they will continue to bill you. Prior to migration, bills must be settled first.
I personally asked AZCom not to disconnect all schools (YET) trained under the IBM eMentor Scholarship Program based on the commitment to re-echo the training and to maintain the internet to carry out the commitments. The schools, on the other hand, are expected to sustain the internet connection.
I hope this clarifies everything.
Thanks,
Maej
