Insight from Participants

Opening message of our master teacher II during the opening program of my reecho....

“A man is on a boat. He is not alone , but acts as if he were. One night he began to cut a hole under his seat. His neighbors shriek, ‘Have you gone mad? Do you want to sink us all? Calmly, he answer them , What I’m doing is none of your business. I paid my way. I’m only cutting a hole under my own seat. ‘What the man will not accept, What you and I cannot forget, is that all of us are in the same boat.’’

Elie Weisel, winner of the noble prizes in 1986.

Our Philosophy of Education, which should be the ultimate basis of any curriculum Design or reform ,has to be relevant and responsive to our rapidly changing world. Because of instantaneous communication and mass transport of today, a distant event can have an immediate impact on one’s community, whose response can influence also the further unfolding of that event. Our world has become inseparably global and local or ‘global’.

The goal also of Computer Training is to train classroom teacher how to promote project-based learning and effectively .Integrate the use of computer into our teaching so that our student will increase their learning and achievement..

We are living more and more in a world in which we filter all kinds of information and news from far and near places and we act on the basis of that filtering process everyday. Our world is increasingly constituted by information , and is one in which we have to take many forward oriented decisions. Contemporary Filipino Learners are confronted with an explosion of knowledge and they have to take stock of a daily barrage of data and commentaries from far and near sources.

In order to become part of the so called Global competitiveness , We educators are the instruments of change towards such competition in order to embrace modernization at a higher aim of attaining sophistication.

With this training , we become aware of the rapid changing world in terms of computerization that is the current information technology. But of course this could not realized , with out functional literacy which includes essential skills like linguistic fluency and scientific numerical competence among our students.

Thus ,We ask: are our learners attaining functional literacy?
Hopefully with this training we will be able to attain our goal and not only our goal as MNHS teachers but to the DepEd goals of attaining more than quality basic education.

THANK YOU AND GOOD DAY !!!!
